Precautions before waxing:
1. Read all precautions and instructions carefully before application.
2. Do not use …

  • On irritated, inflamed, sunburned, peeling, chapped, cut, sore, or broken skin
  • On old, weak scars
  • On skin with eczema, varicose veins, moles, warts, pimples, or rashes.
  • On the elderly or anyone with loose skin
  • On skin recently treated with Retin-A, Glycolic Acid, or Alpha Hydroxy products
  • On nipples, perianal, genital areas, nostrils, ears, eyelashes or eyelids
  • If pregnant, have varicose veins, diabetes, phlebitis, or hemophelia
  • On children under the age of 18, without parental supervision.
  • In a warm room where you may perspire as the acid may have reaction on the wax during application.

Preparation:

  1. Hair to be removed should be at least 1/8 of an inch or 3mm long for the wax to grip successfully.
  2. If hair is too long, cut off with scissors to avoid tangling. This is especially true in bikini line, chest, and back.
  3. Clean area with soap and water, then rinse and pat dry.
  4. Area should be free of lotion, cream, oil, perfume, or perspiration.
  5. Dab talcum powder lightly if skin is oily to allow wax hold better, then brush off powder completely.

What To Do After Your Waxing Service:

  • Some areas may be prone to redness or even soreness for at least two (2) hours after waxing. This indicates that the hair was removed from the roots; rather than superficially broken off, as in shaving. If redness does not disappear within 6 to 8 hours, consult your physician.

Don’ts:

  • Do not rub or scratch area after waxing since intense rubbing or scratching may irritate the skin.
  • Do not use alcohol or astringents on skin immediately before or after waxing.
  • Avoid applying high SPF Sunblocks to the waxed area for at least 12 hours. Sunscreen chemicals can be irritating to the newly waxed skin.
  • Avoid application of HEAT to the waxed area for at least 12 hours. This includes hot baths, sauna, and steam baths.
  • Avoid sunbathing for at least 12 hours after waxing.
  • Avoid applying highly FRAGRANCED products to the waxed area. This includes perfume, strongly scented body lotions, anti-perspirants, cosmetics or feminine hygiene sprays.
  • Avoid using harsh abrasives or exfoliators in the waxed area. This includes any AHA or glycolic acid products. If you are prone to in-grown hairs, loofah mittens or exfoliant scrubs can be used only once the hair has begun to grow back.
  • Do not wax more than once every ten (10) days.
  • Make sure you clean all tools after hair removal. To clean spatula, rinse under warm water.

Some Useful Tips:

  • Work on one section at a time. Remove hair on one section before moving on to the next.
  • Hair may grow in many directions on back of thigh or in underarms. Follow the direction of the hair’s growth pattern. Remove irregular patches first.
  • Do not rub or scratch area after waxing; do not use alcohol, astringents, SPF sunblocks, fragranced products such as perfume, lotions, anti-antiperspirants, etc.
